Poetry and Musings

There is a fork in the road

What is it I am supposed to learn?

Where am I supposed to turn?

I will take a torch to the flame and burn

I know I am supposed to rise above

But all I want to do is push and shove

I wish I knew who I was, I wish I knew everything

But once I heard a wise person say,

“That will take the seeking and the living out of life”

I have no patience for this

But maybe that leaves me with another learning experience

Because there is another fork in the road

  1. I love the picture and the play on the words “fork in the road” and the poem is nicely written, just check a few grammar errors 🙂

    1. Thank you, Kayla for the feedback. I see how, “I have no patience for this” should be “I don’t have any patience for this.” Is that what you are referring to? And I purposely made the first sentence, “There is a fork in the road,” instead of “There is another fork in the road” to show the progression of different forks in the road. Lol. Sometimes I leave out a preposition but when I read it back to myself I say it with the missing word. Lol. So having an extra set of eyes is always good. 🙂

      1. The grammar I was noting is in line six “but I All I want” is that an extra I or are you trying to insinuate a pause?
I love the progression of new forks in new roads
