Message In Stanza

Poetry and Musings

You are waiting to live

You are waiting to die

You are waiting to laugh

You are waiting to cry

You are waiting to pick up the phone

You are waiting to cast the first stone

You are in the waiting room

You know this place well

You aren’t just here mentally

For your spirit here dwells

The clock strikes away

Yes, it’s been another day

All throughout the world oceans move to and fro

People ride in the train station

While the traffic picks up and starts to slow

Also people have walked since creation

You are used to the waiting room

Filled with guilt and gloom

So to get out, I go the receptionist

I say, “Please help me”

“Grant me one wish”

“Get me back to the outside world”

She points to an open door that beholds, Dr. Seuss!

My mouth all of a sudden becomes loose

He exclaimed, “Oh, the places you’ll go”

“From mountain to valley”

“Just to be apart of the human flow”

“I have some wisdom to tell you, young man”

“The secrets to not waiting anymore”

“Isn’t just waiting for an open door”

“But by throwing away past plans”

“And moving on”

“And going to distant and faraway lands”

“And being on an airplane”

“While looking at the window”

“And smiling at the infinite blessed people below”

Hallelujah, I am no longer waiting!!

light forestThere is chaos in the wind
I want to know if you are my friend
But I ask you, your head turns
If a monkey comes to me and says I evolved from him
I will steal a bannana from him
I want to hold you close
And I want you to hold my heart
And tell me we will never part

I can’t live today
Because on the news today they said the world is going to end tomorrow
I can’t live tomorrow
Because I probably won’t be here

We are highly evolved creatures
Some much is going on
Some much we want to know
We are like inch-worms moving one step at a time on the concrete
I would think since we are highly evolved creatures we could live for today
But we have a hard time looking forward to see where our feet are planted
Everything in this life we take for granted
Anytime our sparkle goes away in our hands, we get scared

God promises light on my feet
Not a crystal ball in the future

rest cross

“I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

And “The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love”
As this beautiful Psalm that was possibly mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls

So partake in a restful Lord’s Day when you need it that can only come from above
Amen

ball-dropA crowd dressed up in sparkling silver and gold
Waiting in a crowded square
Waiting for another year
Will the clocks in their hearts stop
In anticipation when the ball will drop

What will happen next year?
Will the hourglass of our hearts in expectation run with yearning?
In another year as the Earth keeps turning
