On the shores of a mediocre life
Swimming in a ruptured love
Cursed with believing in goodness
I was made for love
But I am drowning with a white flag
The reefs bruise my heels
The starfish hurt my head
I am sinking to the bottom
I am shipwrecked
I prayed the night before
I made promises to Him
That I would stay close to the shore
But that didnโt happen
Nothing is happening around me
Cover me like the sand around me
I want to live but some days itโs so hard
Give me a big hug, slippery octopus
Take away these turbulent waves in me
I know this poem is a little dark but what do you think? Is there a certain line that stood out to you?

Dear Carly
Try to direct your thoughts to positive things, be a rock in a stormy sea, when waves are clashing against it. As long as you focus on the bright side of life, on Jesus Christ, God, darkness cannot touch you.
Wishing you strength and light in your heart
Hugs Didi

Wow! โค This part impacted me the most:
"I prayed the night before
I made promises to Him
That I would stay close to the shore
But that didnโt happen…"
Oh, how many times I have made promises that I couldn't keep.
I really enjoyed this, even if it was a little darker than you usually write. ๐ (But I write them too occasionally, so I identify with it.)
