Malnourished bodies under the sun
Scorched by the heat
There is a burning desire for change
But a lack of education and rights remain
You have got to carry your own cross
A lady missionary comes to share Christ
She has the heart of compassion richer than money
But money is needed to provide food
She learns to walk with the local government
She has got to carry her own cross to carry
The local government doesn’t like the missionary
They don’t like change
And they especially don’t like religion
They think it conquers and divides
They got their own cross to carry
Jesus wants things to turn around in developing counties
He said to give unto the least of these
Is giving unto Me
But people’s hearts are hardened and minds made up
He has got his own cross to carry
We have all got our own cross to carry
When darkness steps in, it’s outright scary
But you got to be a solider not a fairy
Stand up during these times that are hairy
Because heaven will flow in the land of honey and dairy
