“The worst kind of suffering is denying one own’s pain.”

“The worst advice you could ever give someone suffering is many people are suffering worse than them, so count your blessings and ignore your pain. Once you acknowledge your pain, esp. when someone else does you feel less alone and the pain will lessen.”

  1. Great post Carly. I believe people mean well when they try to comfort; many times, someone’s presence with no words spoken is the best comfort because no idle words are spoken. Blessings❤️

Thank you, Ann. 🙂 You are right. Many times it’s hard to say the right thing when someone is hurting. Hugs are great during this time! 🙂

      1. You’re welcome Carly. I agree, hugs are great when we’re hurting, even when we receive virtual {{hugs}}. 😉

It’s always hard to find the right words to comfort someone when you can’t empathize with their situation. Their actions can comfort more then their words though. Knowing that God can comfort us helps me the best. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)

Yes, true. God is our greatest comforter! 🙂 He walked on the earth and suffered, even cried!

So true. We all have our own battles, and what seems trivial to one may be torture for another. We should all try to be compassionate towards others and avoid judging – because that’s not our job. Suffering brings more growth than perceived prosperity, so we should also always look for the lessons in each trial.

Yes! When we are at our wits end is we start looking up to God and growing in faith, in my opinion. ❤️🙂
