The soul is bursting with light
A magnificent display of divinity
We are a mirror to our Creator
In this vast universe of ours

I want You
I have said this many times
Satisfy me
Be my bread of life

The key is thrown away
But I found it again in Your heart
Unlock my heart, Lord
Now I need You

Souls are inherently good
The mountain may showcase the greatest view
But it’s nothing like our souls be together
All wrapped up like little gifts in Your hands

Life is like a game

Trying to remember your position

And win with intuition

All people want to hit checkmate

They have overcome so much

 

Broken glass

Splatter

It does matter

What goes on in the outside

Is going on in the inside

 

Fears

Like turbulent seas

High anxieties

All worriers

Are looking for their way home

 

Basketball game

Swoosh, Dunk

That ball sunk

Winning basket

We all celebrate victory

I am really curious, did you ever think

That when you see my blue you see it as pink?

My eyes reading the light rays

They make the color of my perception

It’s merely a visional reflection

Of what’s going on in my head

 

I see you, feel and hear you

I love you so much I revere you

Can you see me?

Can you feel me in your heart?

Or is it all an illusion?

This isn’t crazy or depression talking

 

It’s a desire to know that this shared bond in the cosmos is real

If it’s true, let’s give thanks as we kneel

This blessed life is short like a sunset

Just like a firework show

As the day starts to slow

And the colors we see may be different from one another

 

As the sun sets our hearts sink in splendor

So we should surrender

This may be all we have

A life force coming to end

But oh, what a sweet ending

Let’s go off with a big bang

We all know a little darkness

In the recess of our minds

Troubled past

Locked away with a key

It’s time to find that key again

In our hearts

 

Life could be filled with the greatest of wonders

The marvel of elaborate colors of possibilities 

We just have to dig further into the truth 

Of our broken but beautiful past

My most limited self belief

Is, “What’s the point?”

I’d rather delay the day away

Than feel heavy like a semi-truck

It’s happened again

A day with unmet expectations 

It must just be my luck 

 

I am tired of reading between every line

Searching amongst junk in a goldmine 

I can sleep for 10 hours a day

Not because I am depressed 

But because I am drained

There is a difference

And I get such pleasure staring into space

My mind can be released from its confinements

 

You say you are good but your collar is ruffled

I trust you but your words are muffled

I am not trying to be crafty

I am just looking for real intention

But next to every bank is a red light district

Why do we ignore the corruption in this world?

I’ll gladly stare into space as long as I feel numb

Appeasing harmonies

Ebbing and flowing admist vocals

Baby, please slumber

Close your delicate eyelids

Just listen to me sing

Don’t worry about trouble

You will have many ahead

Just rest your soft head

 

You may dream about pacifiers and bottles

Stay forever pure, young one

The world may seem big to you now

May these melodies stir your little spirit

To feel safe next to my big hands

Remember this feeling when you are older

It may come in handy to you

Those times the skies lose their blue

We can experience Heaven on Earth. In Heaven you can just multiply the joy a million times from what we experience on Earth to grasp the actual feelings of Heaven. And even though we live in a broken world, joy is not in short supply if we look for it. It’s more than the joys of rollercoasters or smiles of babies. It’s an innate deposit in our souls.

It’s in our nature to crave love. But it’s our decision to choose love or not. Call me an optimistic but the only successful way to avoid pain, conflict, strife is to choose to be happy no matter the circumstances. Philippines 4:10-13 says: “I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (NIV.)

Hellen Keller put it this way, “Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.” I find my most trying times are my most successful times in the end. I learned immensely from my mistakes.

I remember a time when I would play sports and one time I was close to winning the final game but our team just couldn’t get the last basket. The other team got a basket in at the last minute during overtime. I refused to give my opponents high fives. I was a sore loser at the time. It wasn’t easy but I learned that everybody has their moments of glory and you should congratulate others more even if you don’t win. It was a humbling experience to be grateful no matter what the circumstances were. I am alive, right?

Winning is such a small thing in comparison to being alive and breathing. Another time I remember leading a newspaper committee in high school and all the members wanted to change the name of the newspaper. I refused to change the name saying, “It’s fine the way it is, don’t we have more important matters to deal with?” I found by not listening to my members I was alienating their wishes and making them feel like their opinions didn’t matter. I was a stubborn person (still am at times) but my willingness to let go of my wants and listening to others more taught and molded me overtime into a more compassionate and understanding person. Becoming that whole new person taught me most of all, joy.

It wasn’t an easy road and I still have a lot to learn in that department but I am pleased with the progress I have made so far. I believe in Heaven we will still have a lot to learn but we will be a lot more mature because of what we lived from this Earth, so the joy will be magnified. But the joy we experience now I believe is helping each other get to that state of maturity.
