Maybe my luck is running out

I see a storm brewin’ outside

I am always running away

Please sound the alarm

I need to be calm

God is always good

Oh, one day, I’ll stand in His presence

A storm is brewin’ outside

Will I be ready that spectacular day?

Your faith is stronger than mine

Mine is a murky clay

Yours is the sweetest of wine

I clump together

The grapes in yours taste better

The storm reminds me I don’t have all the pieces as one

I am an eternal being

I always will be

Sometimes I want to cave in

Because of the way I have behaved

I love being an eternal being

But there is a storm brewin’ outside

Should I take cover?

Or completely surrender?

The tornado may spin

Tornado Valley is in my point of view

The hurricane may coming crashing in

This hurricane’s time is due

Can I stand in His presence?

I try living a good life

But what really matters is Who you know

Will this storm of love sweep me away?

Or will I be left behind in the destruction of the day?

Limestone-outcrop

They say life is short and sweet

But why does it feel long and bitter sometimes?

I try to wrap my mind around this paradox

I feel like an unpolished rock

Who will never become a limestone

I need a glimpse of Heaven, Lord

Of Your beautiful abode

So one day

When this sedimentary rock of mine will erode

Will become a limestone

We all go through refining process

It hurts, what’s new?

But it’s worth in the end

The chisel to the sculpture

It’s making you brand new

Following Him Beside Still Waters nominated me for the Real Neat Award! Come on! Yay! 🙂 Thank you, Following Him. 🙂 Anyhow, this is my first time receiving this one. 🙂

His questions:

  1. (Weird // funny question) If the moon were made out of cheese, what kind of cheese would you want it to be?

Definitely Havarti or goat cheese! Those are my favorite types of cheeses. I love how soft both of them are and if I were ever able to play on the moon, I would want to soft and tasty! 🙂

2. If you could have a pet // have another pet, what would you chose?

A mutt. I love dogs and the first animal I ever fell in love with was a dog. I got one on my 5th birthday named Zoey. So I would get another big furry mutt with a brown coat this time.

3. Favorite dessert?

At this time of writing I would say, Red Velvet cake. I would take this chocolate cake with red dye any time!

4. Do you keep a journal?

I used to. I used it more for what I was doing throughout the day than a journal about my feelings. But I should do that again!

5. What is a favorite photo that you’ve taken?

My sister is a photographer, not me. But I would say the ones I take of nature, esp. the beach are my faves. 🙂

6. If you could be any age for a day, how old would you want to be?

Believe me or not, my age. 🙂 I am about to turn 27 (on the 29th.) And I wouldn’t want to mess with the time space continuum if I altered it for one day! 😉 lol! But if I could future travel, I would like to know if I get married, have kids and grandchildren or not. 🙂

7.  If you garden, what do you grow in it? And if you don’t garden, is this something you would be interested in doing?

I don’t garden and I may be interested. But I don’t know where I would begin. But I do know I would do more flowers than veggies  to start off, though. 🙂

I nominate:

Rachel Being Chatty (This girl is funny!)

KavaraStories (Wonderful, inspiring poetry)

Fact Based Truth (Thought-provoking Christian thoughts and writings)

Urban Poetry (An awesome poet to check out)

Steve Still Standing (Check out his very nice poetry!)

Only life (Another awesome poet)

Here are my questions: (You can pick 7 out of 10 of them and then nominate 6 other bloggers!)

  1. If you could learn any type of dance, what would it be?
  2. Do you like board games? Or do you like they are bored games? If you like them, what’s your favorite one and why?
  3. If you could be in a different job, what would it be?
  4. What is your biggest phobia out of these options: heights, spiders, dark, or being late somewhere?
  5. Mountains or beach and why?
  6. If you die tomorrow, what would you like your last words to be?
  7. What would you like your last meal to be including beverage?
  8. Have you done karaoke before? What song did you karaoke to? What did your friends think of your performance?
  9. Coffee or tea and why?
  10. What inspires your writing the most?

That’s it, folks! 🙂 I hope you enjoyed this. 🙂

I know life is burdensome at times. But why do the dominoes all fall down when you just touch one? Why do the laws of physics function like that?

Let me give some examples. You try to connect with a body of believers and they are supposed to be the most loving, forgiving and patient and sometimes they can be quite the opposite. You may ask the leadership team some questions and instead of answering your vulnerable questions openly they get defensive. And they think you aren’t going along with their program and you feel separated from a once comfortable spiritual environment.

Or one of your family members is sick and bedridden at a hospital and they don’t have many people to console in, so you give them loving support. But you are struggling at work because you are taking too much time off to help them out. And some of your friends are like, “Why go through all this trouble to help them out? You look stressed. You need a break. Can’t someone else help out?” What sounds like caring advice comes across as apathy. You know all the sick family member has is you. So you’ll put their needs above yours.

The dominoes are falling down, one by one. What are you are going to do about it?

I know all the metaphors of pain and breakthrough. The night changing to the day. The climax and resolution in a story. But does that ease your heart and mind?

I am not trying to sound depressed but simply ask an honest question. Why do all the dominoes have to fall down at once?

Firefly

Fireflies caught in a mason jar
Beautiful light feeling trapped
Where does the energy of love go?
Will the person let the firefly leave

I have traveled from near and far
I have felt my hope snapped
This magnificent universe has flow
But still I desire for more and grieve

I want to fly to the clouds
Where love knows no bounds
But like the firefly, where there is no sound
When will my destiny be found?

the-universe

I tried to be someone else
It brought me no resolution
I tried to be the latest slogan
The answer lies within yourself
That will get the river flowin’

I ate my problems away
It brought me no comfort
I tried to be the latest fad
The answer lies within
So, give it all you have

The universe is intricate
So am I
We are all people, special
Will you that help you sleep?
Or not internally wrestle?

We were knit in our mother’ womb
We were made of stars
We were made from dust
A sweet fragrance to the universe
Imperfect, but beautifully robust

The universe is good
I believe that with all my being
I look forward to Heaven all my heart
But the new Earth will become our permeant home
And a new universe humming with ingenuity and art
Thank you, Lord

hands-with-plant

Here is a non-fiction piece I wrote. I typically just write poetry on this blog but I am trying expand my horizons. I hope you enjoy this and I welcome any comments or feedback. 🙂

Lord, I love You. You are the Creator of Everything. Everyone knows You created the birds and the bees. But what about the sonic sounds in the air or the ultraviolet light? I am forever mesmerized and captured by Your infinite mind and grace.

Everyone knows there are 7 billion people on the planet, but did you know there are more who ever existed than are on the Earth now? Science estimates that 107 people who ever lived. There are 15 dead people for every living person. (Credit: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-16870579.) Wow! The Bible says in Ephesians 1:4-6, “Even as He chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved.” (ESV).

We can give Him our love, because He understands us. I believe He is a good God. Supposedly, an evil supreme being could create so many people for their own glory! This wretched creator wants them to worship him only! While God does intend for us to worship Him to glorify Him, He keeps our best interests at heart. On the other hand, an evil creator would want worship and not care about the details of our lives like our Lord Jesus does. There are tons of relationships in the world that are based on vanity and selfishness. People who care too much about their reputation and not the other person’s feelings. God is a wise God. And wisdom includes maturity. While humans are still learning how to be sincere to others through honesty, openness, setting boundaries, etc. It takes time, energy, and patient. God has endless supply of those qualities! We are frail human beings, continuously growing. But we serve a compassionate, slow to anger Father!

Give Him the glory today!

Let’s say this prayer together:

Dear Lord, I love You. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Please help to remind me that everything You do is for our good in mind. I want to love You more and give You everything. It’s by surrendering everything to You that I am completely alive. I love You, Lord and thanks again for all things. 🙂

Amen.
