Poetry and Musings

Here is a poem from a while back. Enjoy!

Developing in a tight cocoon

While your mother’s belly is a balloon

You came into this loud and busy world

You were created by a single cell

This is the start of a life for you to excel

You only have one life

Life is a miracle

Businesses fall and crumble

People fall down and stumble

Life seems up to chance

Like a freestyle dance

But is it, really?

The way the DNA strands fixes itself

It does this on its own without any help

The way the brain develops early

It sends signals to the spine

By a month the mother already see’s the signs

How can it all be up to chance?

Life is a miracle

Here is a wonderful post by Pat Cegan. Check out her blog here:

Cicadas are singing
the song of rain,
cooler days filled
with lush byways of
fruit and flowers.

The deafening roar
of these prehistoric looking
bugs, just before the rains
begin, is a symphony to our ears.

Cicadas are probably best known for their buzzing and clicking noises, which can be amplified by multitudes of insects into an overpowering hum. Males produce this species-specific noise with vibrating membranes on their abdomens. The sounds vary widely and some species are more musical than others. Though cicada noises may sound alike to humans, the insects use different calls to express alarm or attract mates.

Here is the article:

Mrs. Wong of Little Rock, Arkansas created her own AFR (academic for readiness) test for her students. It’s the Arkansas assessment test. Her students were performing poorly on all the school subjects like math and English, which shocked the parents and Mrs. Wong herself. She thought creating a new test may be beneficial and the school board agreed and the state agreed. She designed more practical life subjects like gardening, yoga, nature, and nature on a brand new AFR test. All the kids got high scores. The Egg asked Mrs. Wong why:

Her response was:, “Because they actually learned something from their studies for this test. Like: lilacs need a lot of sunlight, too many nightshades like tomatoes can be bad for you, yoga can increase circulation and lower anxiety, etc. This is practical knowledge that can be utilized in a practical manner. Now that my students know nightshades can be bad for you they may try to stay away from those them. But knowing 270,000 minus 50,000,000 is 49,730,000 might help if you want to be an account or engineer but some of my students may have other career paths in mind. Not everyone is destined to be the next rich person, working with ridiculous numbers and aspire to make tons of money. Some want the simple life. Some want to be gardeners or artists. So this AFR test has reaped a lot of wonderful and unexpected benefits.”

Here is one student’s report:

Hannah said, “Mrs. Wong came up this AFR test and I learned so much. If Johnny walked two miles to school and 4 miles to the store. How many miles is that altogether? I have graduated beyond that. I am doing yoga and gardening for the first time in my life! I can’t wait to hear about the most exotic waterfalls next year! If it wasn’t for this AFT test, I would have never studied these subjects in depth. I love assessment tests now!!

~This has been a report from The Egg.

Note: This is completely made-up from some of the people (Mrs. Wong and Hannah), the AFR test and circumstances. I just wanted to be silly, that’s all! 😀

Evil backwards is live

We must fight with the good angels by our side

With shields of faith and love

Mustard seeds of power and discernment from the Holy Spirit

There is a hierarchy of evil

From lieutenant to commander

With the evil one one on top

They use invisible weapons of fear and suffering

They can interrupt

They can infect

They can confuse

They can rupture

But we can overcome

Heal the sick

Heal depression and anxiety

Eradicate all forms of malice and longsuffering

Jesus and the cross give our weapons power

Evil wants us to believe our suffering is always our own doing

It’s time to wake up

Evil does exist, my friend

cavelight

Oh the cavern, robust and ancient

It’s typically dark and gloomy inside

But gold resides in each cavern heart

Here is a poem from a while back! Enjoy!

The lights are erratic

But so tempting to fix upon

I was invited

But I didn’t know what I was getting myself into

The vintage machine is spinning these oval delights of joy

People are embracing this new world of neon lights

That they are holding on to

Holding them like slender cylinder fireflies

I am contorting to the rhythms and beats

In this kind of environment

Dancing can seem irregular

But it’s completely on beat

I never had this much merriment and liberation

And I haven’t had a single thing to drink

Or pleasure on the side

Just my friends and I raving

Hopefully, this poem made you want to get up and Dance!!

Do you like electronic dance music?

As the cock crows, I slip from my bed and perform my morning rituals, which quiets my soul and centers me, releasing creative energy as a prayer throughout the day. I pause at times when I feel the peace ebbing and again center myself with some deep, slow breaths, and a whispered prayer, “Please be […]

Here is a humorous poem:

Cupcakes Galore

What does the future have in store

I say: CUPCAKES GALORE

You go to the gym

Trying to get slim

Inside’s a cupcake vending machine

They have vanilla, chocolate and everything in between

What does the future have in store?

I say: CUPCAKES GALORE

You go to the nutritionist

She says you need to eat more veggies and fish

But she gives you a cupcake in hand

”This will solve your diet that’s so bland”

What does the future have in store?

I say: CUPCAKES GALORE

If you haven’t gotten your fix

Just turn on Netflix

And watch Cupcake Wars

These small cakes on knocking on doors

Next year will be Cupcakes and Coffee

Where people talk sugar cravings on TV

There will be a therapist onboard

Who will hear every word

What does the future have in store?

I say: CUPCAKES GALORE!!

~Eat more cupcakes!! Lol.
